HOW LONG ARE YOUR FAMILY SESSION?
Anywhere from 30 mins to one hour, every family is different! I know when I have accomplished what I needed + what you wanted and never like to push your family past the point of "well that was fun and easy." I want you to leave your session on a good and happy note. So I dont like to wait until kids are falling apart, crying, tired, and hangry. I want this experience to be a great one so I strive to be efficient, fun, and easy.

WHERE DO WE TAKE THE PHOTOS?
I'm all about shooting in your favorite places & spaces. This may be your home, your yard, or another special location. If you need help coming up with a spot, we will do that together based on your vision! I include 20 miles of travel with all sessions, further distances will require a TRAVEL fee based on location. 

But what do we wear?!
I'm happy to help with wardrobe. I usually recommend that Mom finds something she loves FIRST then basing everyone's outfits around hers. Please let your kids be kids. Let them be comfortable. Know THAT they may get dirty laying in the grass & cuddling with you. And please keep the weather in mind! Freezing kids in dresses or light fancy clothes are never fun to photograph, like ever, no matter how cute their outfit is. So please prioritize comfort over pretty!

What if it rains?
We reschedule. No biggy. 

I DON'T SEE A LOT OF THOSE LOOKING-AT-THE-CAMERA-SMILING-FOR-THE-CHRISTMAS-CARD-PHOTOS ON YOUR BLOG. Do you do those?
Sure do! I just DO A LOT MORE THAN THAT, too! I will capture a handful of those traditional photos for the fridge, however, i try to get a lot of honest interactioN + CANDID MOMENTS between your family and that is what i like to show on my site & social media.

BUT BRI. What if my kids ARE A HOT MESS UNLIKE ALL THOSE OTHER MAGICAL UNICORN CHILDREN YOU PHOTOGRAPH? 
Um sister, THAT AIN'T THE CASE! I photograph so many types of personalities, running wild children, sleepy babies, crying infants, all of it. I'm a mom myself, I understand life with kids and dont expect anyone to be a unicorn. Dont fret. tHERE ARE POTTY BREAKS, snacks, and dirt USUALLY ENDS UP SOMEWHERE IT SHOULDN'T. I'm used to it and know how to work with it, around it, in it, you name it! It's the nature of my job and I'm never worried. I actually suggest just accepting it yourself and going with the flow! The worst thing you can do is yell at them during our session. I mean, if they're hurting another human being, okay. HA! BUT!  Remember that your kids are unpredictable human beings and we will work with what we got, it will make your session much more enjoyable! I have never left a family session, no matter how poorly behaved the kids were, without *some* kinda magic on film!

SHOULD I GET HAIR/MAKEUP DONE? Moms. Invest in yourself. You deserve it. You have like 87 thousand jobs and you deserve to be celebrated, lookin' like a babe, being beautiful amongst your family. If youR budget allows for it, I highly recommend it. I personally always feel much more confident and lovely when I invest in professional hair & makeup!

aS FAR AS SCHEDULING, i TYPICALLY DO NOT SHOOT PORTRAIT SESSIONS ON THE WEEKENDS AS MY WEEKENDS ARE FILLED WITH WEDDINGS. iN OFF SEASON MONTHS, i CAN ACCOMMODATE SOME SESSIONS ON THE WEEKENDS AND YOU'RE WELCOME TO ASK ABOUT THAT. hOWEVER, MOST SESSIONS ARE THROUGH THE WEEK. mOST FAMILY SESSIONS ARE 1 HOUR BEFORE SUNSET (AKA AFTER WORK HOURS). if YOU WANT TO SHOOT EARLIER due to BEDTIMES, WE SO CAN. or IF YOU'D LIKE A MORNING SLOT, i CAN TRY TO ACCOMMODATE THAT, TOO! A $100 nonrefundable reservation retainer is required to hold your date. Balance due at time of session.
